The Big 0!

Birthday milestone

I Just turned 40, three years ago!

So I’ve just had a Birthday, yay for me! I’ve been wanting to write a little something about turning 40 for a while and to get this into perspective I recently turned 43… So turning 40 happened slowly for me and I’m sure each big milestone feels the same for most people. Here’s what I found out:

  • I still like to be called Miss
  • I still think of myself as a ‘girl’ and not a ‘woman’ or a ‘lady’
  • I have a mini shock when I look in my car mirror, specifically at my chin!
  • I think I look like a Giselle when running but for some reason I don’t feel like a Giselle!
  • It truly surprises me when a child describes me as ‘that old lady’…..

You get the idea.. Anyway I think I’m catching up and have turned the corner into womanhood, hoorah! And what a great place to be; wise, determined, focussed and confident! Well alright, sometimes all or one of those things.

One thing I am a big fan of though, and have been since my mid 30’s, is facials. What a way to relax and feel good, and for a while, look fresher and a teeny tiny bit younger. I have been in love with facials for about 8 years when I found a wonderful technique called Facial Rejuvenation or Natural Facelift Massage. It’s a combination of a deeply relaxing and beneficial massage with a thorough workout for your face. If we feel like our legs need a little tone up, we exercise. If we want to clear away some cellulite, we might get a massage or do it ourselves. Natural Facelift massage does both, for the face. And the good news is we can do some of it at home, when we get round to it.

Now that my children have gone back to school (again) and I’ve come to terms with being a woman (still sounds weird), I will share facial exercises, homemade skincare remedies and recipes of food known to be good for the skin. Plus a few other thoughts on womanhood!
