Most people have become so used to feeling stresse
Most people have become so used to feeling stressed, tense or overstimulated that it starts to feel normal, but that doesn’t mean the body is designed to stay in that state all the time. Busy schedules, constant stimulation, long periods of sitting and never fully switching off can leave the nervous system stuck in a low-level state of tension, even when things appear “fine” on the surface. Massage offers the body a chance to slow down. Through steady, attentive touch, the nervous system can begin to shift from a state of constant doing into a state of rest. In my treatments, I focus on creating a calm, unhurried pace. Techniques are adapted depending on what your body needs on the day, whether that’s deeper work in areas of tension or slower, more grounding massage. Over time, regular treatments can help the body become more familiar with this state of relaxation, rather than stress feeling like the default setting.
